Privacy Policy

What this is: UGoodFam? ("we," "our," or "us") is a community-safety companion — a set of tools for creating a trusted circle, sharing your status and location in an emergency, documenting an encounter, and playing prepared statements or affirmations aloud. This policy explains what information we handle, and how.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to make the app work:

• Profile info (name, email) you add to set up a user and build your circle
• Circle contacts — the people you choose as your trusted circle for emergency contact
• Status & location you deliberately share when you trigger the Monitor (a safety check-in)
• Alerts you create (including any message and shared location)
• Evidence records you upload when documenting an encounter
• Prepared statements & affirmations (audio and text) you add to your library

How We Use Your Information

• To connect you with your trusted circle when you raise an alert
• To show your chosen location to people you authorize in an emergency
• To store the statements and affirmations you add so they play back on your device
• To respond to your questions at the contact address below
• To improve the product

Location & Emergency Data

Your location is not collected in the background. It is only sent when you actively choose to trigger the Monitor or an alert. When you do, your location and status are shared with the circle you have authorized, so the people you trust are told where you are and that you need them. You can stop or clear a check-in at any time.

Audio & Prepared Statements

Audio statements and affirmations are stored so your library works across visits. We do not listen to your saved clips or analyze them. Your microphone is never recorded unless you explicitly start a recording in the app, and any such recording is data you create and control.

Where Information Is Stored

UGoodFam? stores app data in a hosted database (Airtable) and serves files and audio through Loomis's own hosting (FileHub / the UGoodFam API). Some app preferences live in your browser's local storage. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.

Is UGoodFam? a legal or emergency service?

No. UGoodFam? is an informational companion. It is not a replacement for calling the emergency services (e.g. 110/112 in Germany, 911 in the US), and it does not guarantee that your circle is reachable or that any message is received. You should always contact official emergency services in a genuine emergency.

Data Retention

We keep the accounts, circles, and alerts you create for as long as needed to operate the service. You can ask us to delete your records at any time using the contact details in the Legal Notice.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us at the address in the Legal Notice to exercise these rights.
